Bobbi has been practicing since 2014 after graduating from the New School of Massage & Bodywork in Chicago. His massage style combines trigger point therapy and deep tissue techniques with deliberate, slow movements. Drawing from his experience as a personal trainer, he believes that every joint in the body should be in a balanced state, with the goal of correcting imbalances caused by poor posture and muscle tension. Serena has been a licensed massage therapist since 2019. She is proud to have worked her whole life in helping professions with social justice objectives. She has a BA in Spanish Literature and Liberal Studies from Portland State University, and came into the massage profession later in her life. Serena was called to the work of massage therapy in order to help clients understand the power their bodies hold to heal themselves through receiving regular massage. Her work begins with deep compassion, empathy, ethics, inclusion, and a commitment to building community.
Serena is drawn to modalities that bring warmth and movement to people’s bodies. When she is not in-studio, she has taught massage therapy in Portland, and in Costa Rica. Her formal training includes both Eastern and Western techniques including spa and hydrotherapy, Tuina, myofascial release, myofascial cupping, facilitated stretching, and manual lymph drainage through the Vodder Institute.
She loves to spend her non-working time on the water participating in paddle sports like dragon boat, and stand up paddle boarding, doing hand sewing projects, and riding her bike in all the PNW weather. Serena is part of the LGBTQIA+ community, and has deep ties to this land with tribal roots in the Columbia River and Willamette River valleys. She has goals to bring more massage therapy to her Native American and LGBTQIA+ communities.
